i was thinking of getting my bf a fragrance set of nautica voyage (his favorite summer scent), that has the eau de toilette, aftershave, and deodorant, but if he uses all three at once, won't he smell overpowering?

There are hundreds of both on the market but you should differentiate between aftershave and cologne.Aftershave has a much greater percentage of alcohol than cologne. I personally use only cologne as I use an electric shaver and many times the opposite sex have commented on how nice it smells. As to which is best this is a matter of taste but a good cologne will cost between $40 to $60 & up for a 100ml spray.There will usually be sampler sprays available so spray a little on the back of your hand to try it out.
